Description: Perfect Square is about a square that gets cut up, torn up, shredded and shattered. Each time something is done to the square, it figures out a way to turn the situation in a useful, positive outcome.
Story: The underlying purpose of this story is about how we adjust to the changes and challenges that life throws our way. It’s about making lemons into lemonade. This book emits a feeling of optimism, and a ‘can-do’ attitude.
Illustrations: The illustrations in Perfect Square are simple, modern, creative, and clever. I love the way Hall uses color and different techniques to create a textured effect. I also think the way that the illustrations are portrayed through the use of simple shapes, is a very interesting and an effective way to specifically attract children to them.
